About
Hello! My name is Marie Hafeman and here is a bit about me. Where did I come from and where am I going and why can that involve you?
I’m originally from Modesto, California and graduated from Azusa Pacific University, outside of Los Angeles, with a degree in English in 2007. Since then, I have lived in California, Denver, and now at the World Hunger Relief Farm in Waco, Texas.
I’m currently taking distance learning courses to become a certified clinical herbalist through the Southwest School of Botanial Medicine which I hope to complete by the end of 2010. In Denver I apprenticed for six months with a clinical herbalist who specializes in women’s health. One of my long term goals is to open an herbal medicine clinic and operate it on a by-donation/trade basis so that I can provide preventive care/basic herbal care to all in need. I have a lot to learn about botanical medicine and alternative business models, so if you are interested keep reading!
For a more detailed description of the kind of work I do, check out my first blog Texas, Herbs, Fire Ants, and Homemade Lotion.
